Gubitak UBS: 11 milijardi dolara

UBS banka objavila gubitakNajveća švajcarska banaka UBS objavila je gubitak od 11,5 milijardi franaka (10,97 milijardi dolara) za prvo tromesečje 2008 i najavila ukidanje 5.500 radnih mesta.

Banka je u istom razdoblju prošle godine imala čistu zaradu od tri milijarde franaka. UBS je prošlog meseca opomenula ulagače da treba da očekuju minus od 12 milijardi franaka za prvi kvartal, pošto je banka u istom razdoblju otpisala dodatnih 19 milijardi dolara u američkim nekretninama i kreditnim pozicijama.

Banka kaže da će zatvoriti 2.600 radnih mesta u svom investicionom odeljenju - na koje je bačena krivica za većinu poteza koji su vodili ka rekordnom otpisu 37,4 milijardi dolara od prošlog leta, onosno kraha na hipotekarnom tržištu SAD.

Daljih 2.900 radnih mesta biće ukinuto u drugim delatnostima banke.

Prošlog meseca, akcionari su odobrili izbor novog predsednika UBS i dokapitalizaciju od 15 milijardi franaka u nadi da će preokrenuti istorijski gubitak banke koja je početkom godine već podigla 13 milijardi franaka od dva inostrana državna ulagačka fonda.
